Welcome!
My name is Clarissa and I completed the education program through UNBC in April 2025. This website showcases some of my learning in the program and demonstration of the Professional Standards for BC Teachers.
I was born and raised in Terrace, BC, and I hope to begin my teaching career here. I love this area for it’s beautiful scenery and small-community feel. I like doing things outdoors and this is the perfect place for those things. This includes skiing, hiking, kayaking, tennis, and snowshoeing. I also enjoy playing hockey.
Additionally, I enjoy a number of indoor activities including spending time with our indoor cat, Marzipan. I enjoy reading novels, bowling, knitting, sewing and baking.
I also love dogs. This is a picture of my parents’ dog, Loki.
Growing up, my family always had animals. I was a member of the 4-H Club and we learned how to care for chickens, sheep, pigs, and rabbits. I was also lucky enough to have riding lessons from our neighbour.
I also love to travel. I’ve been to Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Washington, Hawai’i, California, Cuba, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. August 2023 was the first time I went to Europe and I hope to go back again to see more of it! Europe was extra interesting because of several history courses I took the year before going.
Another fun fact about me is that I have learned how to be very organized. Working as a school secretary for 4 years and as a payroll clerk for a year and a half taught me a number of ways to manage my time and tasks.
